Content Update #10 - The Tree
Read on Discord ↗
Hello all!
The new tree is finally here. There has been some structural changes to the server and also you’ll notice when you login there will be some changes to your account. Below I’ve sectioned the update as its quite complicated. Hopefully its understandable. I’m here in #chat to answer any questions.
Prestiging
Prestiging will not reset your tree anymore and the amount of sigil points you receive will be the same. This will allow you prestige a lot faster which allows you to unlock more content. Currently prestiging gives you points to spend in the shop, but in the future we are adding extra node unlocks based on your prestige level so continue grinding.
Sigils
8 Utility nodes from the existing tree have now become Sigils.
- Resource Gatherer — 20 Points: 20% chance to double a gathered resource and its associated gathering XP.
- More Clues — 30 Points: 10% chance to duplicate clue-scroll drops.
- Slayer Booster — 30 Points: Awards 30% more Slayer points per completed task.
- Key Saver — 50 Points: 5% chance to preserve supported keys when used.
- Auto Processor — 50 Points: Chance to instantly process a full skilling batch: 5% on Commoner, 10% on Alderman, and 15% on Highthane.
- Doubling Down — 40 Points: 25% chance for a clue casket to upgrade one tier; master clues instead produce an extra master casket.
- Ironhide — 20 Points: Increases total melee, ranged, and magic defence bonuses by 5%.
- Lucky Leash — 60 Points: Adds a 5% pet drop-rate bonus.
The class system has also been eradicated and you’ve been refunded any points if you had any of the following sigils:
- Sigil of the Swashbuckler
- Sigil of the Gunslinger
- Sigil of Arcane Swiftness
Classes
Because of the new tree system we’ve gotten rid of the class system. On account creation you selected a class which would boost your tick speed in either Magic, Melee or Ranged. With the new tree you now have an option to select a starter node increasing the attack speed of any of those 3 with a new option for your Thralls (and familiars) to attack faster. Currently you can only select one starting node, however we are working on a system that will allow you to select one more in the future. No node is permanent and you can swap whenever you want with the new Respec orbs.
The Tree
Overview
This is where it gets complicated. Our new tree currently has 180 nodes for you to select from. The tree is broken up into 4 quadrants, Magic, Melee, Ranged & Familiars. You can select any starter node and can travel to any quadrant.
There are 16 nodes on the line of each connecting quadrant. These nodes have their own universal functions such as increasing drop rate, chances to reduce attack delays, restoring prayer points & prayer penetration. Choose wisely.
Unlocking Nodes
Currently you can unlock 40 nodes right now. Nodes are unlocked in the same way as before by doing tasks. Essence required has been increased to 10,000 from 2,000. This seems like a lot, but remember your tree never resets. Nodes are also way more powerful before and utility has been taken out, so the tree is very combat / power heavy. On testing we’re doing on average about 500% more damage than before with about 40 nodes unlocked.
Mastery Tasks - 10 additional nodes will be able to be unlocked in the next update from 10 particular singular mastery tasks. These are tougher tasks, but a single task will unlock a node.
Respecing nodes
Because your tree never resets & everyone should have flexibility in case they want to change the tree, we now have Respec fragments in the game. These are single use fragments that allow you remove an unlocked node on your tree. These fragments are on a global drop table for any monster above 25 hp. They are also available in the Vote & Donator store. We will also be adding them to a new mystery box releasing early next week that will be focused on new content. Whenever we do a big patch on the tree everyone’s tree will be reset free.
Potential Changes
There is a chance that we may have to adjust monster health/defense stats. This is due to how strong you will be hitting. We’re going to see how the game feels the first week or so and we will adjust as needed. There are two main reasons for this. One is to ensure the economy won’t get flooded with items, and two to ensure you’re not ripping through content that requires a bit of mechanic maneuvering.
Bugs
- Araxxor bugs have been fixed. If you find something like this your best scenario is to report it to us __privately__. This ensures you face no jail time or consequences. If you take advantage and then report you can still be punished.
- Bug at Echo DKs has been fixed.
- Reworked attuning of sigils, now you shouldn’t have any stale slots taken up despite having unattuned items.
- Patched an issue in battle pass with receiving slayer experience
- Cannon decays correctly when offline
Other Updates
- Twiglet has been buffed from base 5% to base 7% Max cap is now 15%.
- Various delve improvements to match OSRS
- Battle Pass Experience has been buffed quite a bit (half of this was done last update). We increased passive experience by 50% and also another 20% on this update. The Voting experience has been reverted and is back to normal.
Future Plans
As some of you may have seen we’ve started a revision 239 upgrade. This is an extremely big overhaul and will update us to the latest OSRS, latest Runelite client and plugin hub. This is going to be absolutely amazing because we will have faster access to new game data along with the latest content. We’re super excited for this and we will have a beta world up for a select group of testers early next week.
Thank you so much for all your patience, I know everyone has been looking very forward to this update. It took a bit longer than expected, but its a very fun way to enjoy the game. ❤️
